Job summary

The Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of Central Florida (FSBDC at UCF) is seeking an experienced Business Development Consultant II to provide general consulting and conduct workshops in Brevard County. The role includes helping small businesses start, grow and succeed, with access to capital, marketing, operations, and technical assistance.

The position requires travel between locations and on-site work at UCF's FSBDC in Brevard County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• Two (2) years of experience in business management, business consulting, entrepreneurship, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse client portfolio.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience owning or managing a small business.

Responsibilities

• Delivers one-on-one business consulting to existing and emerging small businesses, providing expertise across areas including access to capital, accounting and finance, marketing, human resources, operations, new venture planning, and general business technical assistance.
• Cultivates and sustains successful community relations through strategic collaborations with external constituencies, including funding partners, lenders, business organizations, and civic groups, while ensuring established goals and objectives are effectively communicated and attained.
• Supports the planning, development, and implementation of small business educational programs; facilitates business seminars designed to help entrepreneurs start, grow, and succeed.
• Conducts outreach efforts to educate clients, partners, and stakeholders on SBDC services and their impact on the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
