Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage the end-to-end payroll process for SMSC and its Tribal Operations. The role requires on-site presence Monday through Friday, strong UKG experience, and the ability to stay current with payroll laws and regulations.

Collaborate with Finance, HRIS, Benefits, and HR partners to ensure accurate payroll and compliant reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 4+ years payroll experience and tax compliance knowledge.
• Ability to analyze payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately for all team members.
• Handle deductions, benefits, retirement, and garnishments.
• Maintain payroll records and reconcile accounts.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Prepare year-end processes and W-2s.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, and HRIS teams.
• Respond to payroll inquiries promptly and confidentially.
