Job summary

MMG Industrial Group is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst at its St. Johnsbury, VT site. This role owns standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis to ensure accurate internal reporting and audit readiness.

You will work closely with site operations and accounting staff as an individual contributor. You will drive the annual cost roll, manage cycle counts, and maintain BOM/routing accuracy in the ERP costing module.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Advanced Excel proficiency with complex formulas and models.
• Experience with AI-enabled analysis tools to accelerate reconciliation and analysis work.
• ERP costing/inventory modules experience (E2 Shoptech or JobBoss2) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the standard cost‑setting process for the site and lead annual cost roll with guidance from the Group Controller.
• Drive monthly variance analysis down to root cause and present actionable findings to operations leadership.
• Own inventory valuation integrity: reconcile perpetual inventory to GL and manage cycle counts and E&O reserves.
• Maintain BOM and routing accuracy in ERP costing module with engineering and operations.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close with cost-accounting entries.
• Build and maintain Excel-based costing models and dashboards; leverage AI tools to accelerate reconciliation and reporting.
• Support external audit requests related to inventory valuation, standard costing, and E&O reserves.
• Partner with Industrial Division Controller on cost questions for new part introductions and margin analysis.
• Escalate data-integrity risks to Group Controller when needed.
• Establish cycle-count programs and ensure reconciliation accuracy.
