Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an on-site Site Project Manager for Security projects in the Columbus area.

You will oversee the on-site execution from mobilization through closeout, coordinating with the Major Projects team, customers, subcontractors, and site stakeholders to deliver work on time, within scope and budget. This role requires extended deployments (typically 6 to 18 months) with up to 100% travel, plus strong communication, risk management, and QA/QC oversight.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6+ years of related project management, construction supervision, or field leadership experience.
• Experience managing medium-complexity projects within Security, low-voltage, life-safety environments.
• Strong coordination skills to supervise multiple on-site activities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to deploy for 6–18 months and travel up to 100%.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and Windows-based applications.
• Experience supporting or leading project scopes of $1M+.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site project manager for assigned Security projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate daily with Project Manager, customer, subcontractors, and site contractors to keep work aligned.
• Perform daily site inspections to verify quality and safety.
• Oversee on-site work to ensure compliance with Johnson Controls standards and contract obligations.
• Prepare and submit progress updates and field reports for the master project schedule.
