Job summary

The City of Minneapolis seeks a Security Operations Center Officer to monitor building security systems, manage access control, alarms, cameras, and radio dispatch across City facilities. You will triage incident reports and dispatch responders as needed.

On-site role requiring a high school diploma, at least three years of related security experience, and a valid driver’s license. You’ll conduct nightly patrols, assist during emergencies, and support coordination with city partners and vendors

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of related security experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform monitoring duties in the Security Operations Center for building security systems (access control, alarms, cameras, emergency systems, radio dispatch).
• Receive calls for assistance and incident reports; triage and dispatch security or call 911 as needed.
• Initiate emergency notification system for active shooter or severe weather incidents.
• Issue photo access cards and manage access levels for staff and contractors.
• Participate on Building Emergency Control team during emergencies and drills.
• Assist Homeless Response Team in identifying encampments and coordinate with CPED via mobile patrols.
• Perform nightly building inspections and mobile patrols for off-site situations.
• Assist MBC security staff for large events and monitor City Hall cameras and dispatch security personnel.
• Monitor underutilized areas and ensure contracted security performs duties; report discrepancies.
