Job summary

Onward Education is hiring a School Occupational Therapist (OT) for an on-site assignment supporting two middle school campuses in Cook County, IL. The role is full-time with a standard school-day schedule and a collaborative OT team.

Start date is August 24, 2026, and the OT will address students’ IEP/504 needs, MTSS supports, and school participation through direct service and consultation.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license (IL OT).
• On-site work at two campuses in Cook County, IL.
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• School-based experience and knowledge of IEP/MTSS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve on middle school building-level teams to support student success in the educational environment.
• Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations to help determine special education eligibility.
• Provide IEP-related OT services and contribute to goal development, service planning, and progress monitoring.
• Support MTSS through targeted interventions and consultation.
• Consult with staff and families to promote generalization of skills across school routines and environments.
• Recommend and support accommodations, adaptations, and assistive tools as appropriate and document services.
