Job Description

The Field Safety Representative is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of safety protocols, procedures, and regulations at job sites. This position serves as a primary contact for safety-related matters in the field, playing a critical role in creating a culture of safety. The Field Safety Representative also oversees new employee safety orientations to ensure all personnel are equipped to work safely and in compliance with both organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Site Safety Monitoring

• Conduct daily safety inspections across all job sites to identify and address hazards.
• Help ensure compliance with OSHA, local, and company-specific safety guidelines.
• Oversee adherence to the Injury Illness Protection Program (IIPP), confined space protocols, fall protection measures, and other safety plans.
• Perform risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for on-site tasks.

Safety Training & Orientation

• Lead comprehensive safety orientations for new hires, ensuring understanding of site-specific safety requirements and company policies.
• Conduct periodic safety training sessions to update employees on new protocols, equipment, and changes in regulations.
• Assist the Site Safety Manager in maintaining detailed training records, validating personnel compliance with certifications and refresher courses.
• Investigate or supervise subcontractor investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports, including recommendations for corrective measures.
• Support timely implementation and documentation of corrective actions.
• Participate in post-incident debriefs to capture lessons learned and improve safety processes when required.

Safety Equipment & Compliance

• Help ensure that all safety equipment (PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.) is available, inspected, and compliant with safety standards.
• Coordinate regular safety audits and equipment inspections, validating that documentation is up to date and compliant with regulations.
• Assist with timely distribution of safety equipment and materials, with approval from the Site Safety Manager or Program Director.

Safety Communication & Coordination

• Act as a primary point of contact for safety matters in the field, coordinating with site supervisors, subcontractors, and management teams to uphold safety standards.
• Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings to discuss safety concerns, progress, and upcoming tasks.
• Liaise between field personnel and management to ensure clear communication of safety policies, updates, and expectations.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

• Support completeness and maintenance of safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, and meeting notes.
• Stay informed on local, state, and federal safety regulations to ensure ongoing compliance, and recommend updates to company procedures, as necessary.
• Support management and submittal of required documentation to OSHA and other regulatory bodies in a timely manner.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in workplace safety, bringing forward innovative ideas to enhance safety performance.

Additional Responsibilities

• Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Site Safety Manager or Program Director, adapting to the evolving needs of the project and safety program.
• Flexibility to address emerging safety concerns and challenges as and before they arise, supporting continuous improvement and initiative-taking risk management in line with project goals.

Job Requirements

A minimum of four years of construction site safety coordination experience is preferred. Previous experience as a Site Safety Construction Representative is preferred. Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, mission-critical, or similarly complex construction projects is strongly preferred.

Experience working within union construction environments, including Project Labor Agreements, collective bargaining requirements, trade jurisdictions, and labor safety coordination, is preferred. Strong working proficiency with Procore is preferred. Candidate must have the ability to effectively manage and track project safety documentation to support safe construction execution.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work will be performed on an active construction site, semiconductor manufacturing facility, cleanroom. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in accordance with Century 3, client, regulatory, and project requirements.

This position requires regular and sustained field presence and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential functions include routinely walking active construction areas; standing for extended periods; navigating uneven surfaces, stairs, ladders, and temporary access routes; accessing elevated and congested work areas; working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions; wearing required PPE; and safely accessing areas necessary to inspect and report on safety observations for construction activities. The Field Safety Representative must be capable of maintaining situation awareness, communicating effectively with project personnel, responding to changing field conditions, and safely performing required field responsibilities within an active construction and operating facility environment.
