Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification as SO3.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in a safety-related role.
• Familiarity with safety legislation and procedures.
• Strong communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Create, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe work environment.
• Perform regular hazard and risk assessments across the workplace to identify potential safety issues and recommend preventive measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions, drills, and toolbox meetings for employees and contractors.
• Perform regular site inspections and internal audits to ensure safe work practices are being followed and safety equipment is functional.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures; conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
• Keep accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, permits, and other safety documentation.
• Monitor the proper use and availability of PPE, ensuring employees are equipped according to job requirements.
• Work closely with all departments to promote a proactive safety culture and implement company-wide safety improvements.
