Job summary

Perini Management Services, Inc. in San Juan, PR, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent / Safety Engineer to lead safety on construction projects.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will identify hazards, implement corrective actions, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure compliance with the Site-Specific Safety Plan. The role requires OSHA 30 hours and at least 3 years of construction safety experience; Spanish speaking and CHST are preferred.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 hr completed.
• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• Knowledgeable in construction processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazards and develop corrective actions with subcontractors.
• Assist in development and implementation of Activity Hazard Analyses.
• Coordinate safety efforts and ensure compliance with safety policies and plans.
• Attend construction meetings to guide pre-planning and ensure training requirements are met.
• Provide training to employees and subcontractors as needed.
• Lead project safety orientation and ensure attendance before on-site work.
• Participate in meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and report findings to SSHO.
• Assist with accident/incident investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Review safety documentation for accuracy and submission per procedures.
• Issue required permits to subcontractors as needed.
• Coordinate and accompany safety audits by clients, owners, insurers.
