Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to drive on-site hazard mitigation and occupational health initiatives. You will collaborate with frontline employees and site supervision to identify, evaluate, and eliminate risks while enforcing regulatory compliance and company safety standards.

The role also involves mentoring Safety Techs assigned to the project. Key duties include conducting health and safety trainings, performing inspections of facilities and PPE,

Qualifications

Craft safety experience and knowledge of hazard mitigation required.
OSHA 30/510/500 experience or willingness to obtain after 5 years
NCCER CSSS or equivalent certifications preferred
BCSP STS or STS-C strongly recommended; other safety credentials encouraged

Responsibilities

Promote and reinforce our safety culture and core values.
Inspect facilities and equipment to identify safety hazards.
Monitor safety performance and provide feedback to staff and supervision.
Review job hazard analyses (JHA) for accuracy and controls.
Ensure proper use of PPE and conduct safety inspections.
Lead safety trainings and maintain training records.
Investigate accidents and incidents and document findings for prevention.
Coordinate with site safety leadership on safety activities.
