Job summary

OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a Safety Specialist to oversee and enforce safety measures on active construction projects. You will inspect areas, materials, and work habits to ensure OSHA compliance and company procedures, and lead on-site safety initiatives.

The role requires staying current with regulations, identifying hazards, enforcing policies, and coordinating with management and EH&S groups. Travel to job locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Stay current on state and federal occupational safety regulations (OSHA 29 CFR 1020 and 1926).
• Identify and mitigate workplace health and safety hazards on active projects.
• Lead safe work processes and enforce company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Stay current on state and federal occupational safety regulations and apply expertise on job sites.
• Identify and mitigate workplace health and safety hazards.
• Support project teams with safe work processes (JSAs, THAs, Safe Work Procedures).
• Enforce OBR safety policies and procedures at job sites.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations.
• Maintain safety documentation and records.
• Monitor and investigate near-miss incidents.
• Conduct safety audits/inspections and participate in investigations.
• Collaborate to analyze trends and implement corrective actions.
• Lead on-site safety meetings and ensure compliance.
• Provide safety expertise to employees, subcontractors, and clients.
