Job summary

The Wellstar Health System seeks an on-site Utilization Management Team Lead to mentor and supervise UM RNs, coordinating care across acute, chronic, and long-term stages of illness. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize hospital throughput and ensure medical necessity criteria are met.

Responsibilities include training, performance coaching, QA/PI activities, and leading daily operations with emphasis on documentation, compliance, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in nursing required.
• RN license in Georgia.
• Minimum 1–3 years UM/Case management experience.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care with Manager, Director and other Healthcare Team Leaders.
• Oversee daily staffing and workload distribution.
• Mentor and coach UM staff and students.
• Ensure timely medical necessity determinations and documentation.
• Lead QA/PI initiatives.
