Job summary

FLATS LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain a scattered portfolio of Uptown Chicago apartments. This full-time, on-site role supports a team that delivers high-quality living spaces and requires after-hours emergency availability.

The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience in residential properties, with knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. Competitive benefits and a supportive work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven apartment/building maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and use hand/power tools safely.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance work orders promptly.
• Perform turns in vacant units to prepare for new residents.
• Maintain building common areas including hallways, lobbies, and amenities.
• Contribute to pool and seasonal amenity maintenance.
• Identify and resolve minor plumbing and electrical issues.
• Perform light carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and general building repairs.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Maintain exterior areas including trash removal and snow removal.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating schedule.
• Uphold safety standards and clean, organized work spaces.
• Collaborate with the Property Manager and team to finish tasks on schedule.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests during visits.
• Valid driver’s license required.
