Job summary

John Crane, a business of Smiths Group, seeks a Customer Reliability Engineer or Technical Specialist to work on-site at a customer facility. You will perform independent seal and equipment evaluations and recommendations with guidance from the account manager and regional engineer.

Responsibilities include installation, commissioning of mechanical seals, data analysis using ServiceMax, and customer training. Travel to customer sites is required, with compensation aligned to experience and role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience with mechanical seals and rotating equipment.
• Proficient PC skills and MS Office.
• Experience with Kaizen/SMED/Lean is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Reviews customer applications and recommends MTBR improvements with oversight.
• Directs installation and commissioning of mechanical seals and systems.
• Collects and analyzes customer data and reports results via ServiceMax.
• Provides customer training and supports Management of Change.
• Collaborates with account manager and regional engineer.
