Job summary

ECMCC in Buffalo, NY is seeking a non-licensed clinical staff member to provide direct patient care in the Acute Medical Rehabilitation Unit, Medical/Surgical Units or Long-Term Care Facility. Responsibilities include preparing patients for therapy, assisting with ambulation, measuring vitals, and responding to emergencies.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of relevant healthcare experience or related education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; and:
• One (1) year of experience as an aide in a hospital, long-term care, skilled nursing, acute rehabilitation or therapeutic setting; or:
• One (1) year post high school education in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or closely related field; or:
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B).

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for therapy and transports to sessions.
• Assists with patient ambulation.
• Performs range of motion exercises for upper and lower extremities.
• Performs pulse oximetry and records measurements.
• Obtains and records vital signs.
• Responds to life-threatening emergencies.
• Provides meals and assists with feeding as necessary.
• Assists with activities of daily living.
