Job summary

HealthStar is seeking an X-ray Technologist for Jefferson Family Physicians to perform radiologic procedures, prepare patients, and maintain equipment on-site in Tennessee. The role requires knowledge of radiology practices, medical terminology, patient handling, and documentation per protocols; ARRT certification is preferred and CPR must be current.

The position includes collaboration with physicians and participation in staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Applicant must know how to perform x-rays and other tests associated with the radiology department.
• Applicant must be knowledgeable in medical terminology.
• Responsible for proper documentation guidelines according to x-ray protocols and legal requirements.
• Responsible for dress code.
• Along with all other employees, responsible for medical record maintenance, i.e., securing information in the chart, placing dividers if applicable and proper chart order.
• Shuts down equipment and x-ray room at close of the day.
• Other duties assigned by Management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
• Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Processes routine paper work.
• Maintains x-ray room. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
• Processes radiologic film.
• Attends required staff and educational meetings.
• Assists doctor with patients.
• Handles some calls for physicians.
