Job summary

KLN Family Brands is seeking an R&D Food Technologist Intern for the summer of 2027 at our Perham, MN facility. You will work with the R&D team to create new products, improve formulas, and translate customer insights into prototypes and commercial offerings.

You will learn innovation, KPI tracking, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, with on-site duties and a 10–12 week commitment for college juniors and seniors in Food Science or related fields.

Qualifications

• Junior in college pursuing a Food Science or related degree.
• Commit to 10–12 weeks in the summer of 2027.
• Ability to work on-site at Perham, MN.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker.

Responsibilities

• Create new products for brands and B2B partners.
• Improve existing products and optimize formulas.
• Engage with customers to gather insights and translate them into concepts and prototypes.
• Suggest, build, and apply tools to improve processes and learnings.
• Collaborate with external partners to source innovative solutions.
• Develop packaging design, product specs, and FPR expectations.
• Develop products addressing ICP needs and market opportunities.
• Contribute to strategic planning supporting long-term growth.
