Job summary

Kautex invites motivated students to join our Quality Engineering internship in Avilla, IN. You will assist with customer concerns, PPAP support, and tooling reviews while learning the IATF quality system and manufacturing problem solving in a real automotive setting.

This on-site internship focuses on data integration, tooling validation, and supplier collaboration, offering hands-on experience with PPAP, control plans, and corrective actions within a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Systems Management or other related discipline.
• Preference given to candidates who possess skills in Data Integration, Software Development, Thermal Management, and Materials Science.
• Previous manufacturing experience an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills required.

Responsibilities

• Customer contact: provide action to customer concerns, rejected material review analysis and reporting, attendance at product focus team meetings, evaluate initial tooling layouts, preparation of PPAP paperwork, sample preparation and follow up, review and update Customer Control Plans, communication of customer concerns within facility, corrective action reporting.
• Review weight calculation for quote process.
• Process sheet review and updates, record keeping, engineering change review, audit quality system, engineering or technical support for manufacturing problems, capability studies and gage studies.
• Attend internal and external quality meetings.
• Authority to investigate, assess and report on any nonconforming process or product.
• Implement corrective actions or preventative actions for customer issues.
• Understanding of IATF system requirements.
