Job summary

Veranova in Devens, MA, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the safe development and implementation of capital projects, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency. This 1st-shift, on-site role emphasizes timely delivery within budget while ensuring compliance.

You will manage projects from concept to commissioning, coordinate resources, support troubleshooting, and train operations staff on new equipment, contributing to manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent degree required.
• 1+ year in project design/PM in a regulated industry; construction management experience a plus.
• Experience reading P&IDs, process flow diagrams, schematics.
• MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Visio).
• Strong communication, detail orientation, and writing skills.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
• AutoCAD drawing updates a plus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on-site in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from concept to commissioning of process/utility equipment.
• Coordinate internal/external resources to specify and cost projects.
• Provide engineering support and troubleshooting to meet production/customer needs.
• Prepare business case justifications and RFQ/RFPs for capital projects.
• Manage outside contractors to meet timelines and budgets.
• Train operations personnel on new/modified equipment.
• Propose process/equipment modifications to Facilities Manager.
• Perform other duties as instructed.
