Job summary

Austin Commercial is seeking a Project Engineer II in Austin, TX. This role supports project management, coordinates submittals, RFIs, schedules, and procurement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The PE II collaborates with owners, subcontractors, and engineers on commercial construction projects while upholding safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Requirements include a BS in construction management/science, or engineering, plus 2 years of industry experience, OSHA 30, and legal work

Qualifications

• 2 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (may obtain within first year).
• Experience with RFI, submittals, and punch-list.

Responsibilities

• Notifies subcontractors of commencement dates; expedites deliveries to avoid delays.
• Participates in estimating costs and construction time for proposed changes; updates plans and schedule.
• Prepares submittal schedule and coordinates with subcontractors, architects, and superintendents.
• Oversees reports such as material logs, submittal logs, RFI logs, and drawing logs.
• Assists in preparing subcontracts and resolves issues affecting interpretation or execution.
• Assists in verification of monthly subcontractor payment requests.
• Locates suppliers for building materials; reviews invoices for quantity, quality, and price.
• Responds to RFIs and routes information to the appropriate team members.
• Assists in compiling close-out documents and may contribute to warranty packages.
• Participates in jobsite safety per Safety & Health Manual.
• When not on project, may work in Estimating with cost estimates and value engineering.
