Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer I to be based in Southern California. This early-career role supports the Project Manager/Construction Manager from design through closeout, with emphasis on construction administration, field oversight, and project documentation.

Ideal for recent graduates with interest in healthcare, school, and public/private sector projects, and with familiarity in related compliance and project controls. On-site work with potential hybrid options is available at times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or demonstrated equivalency.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with construction management practices preferred.
• Proficiency with construction management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager/Construction Manager in planning, coordination, and control from preliminary design through closeout.
• Perform field oversight, site walks, and quality control to ensure conformance with plans and safety standards.
• Review and coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost/schedule impacts of changes.
• Support project documentation, progress reporting, and closeout activities, including punch lists and certifications.
