Job summary

Atkinson Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to deliver administrative and technical services across scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and project administration. You will work with field managers, superintendents, and the project team to oversee components of the project and support a safe, efficient site.

The role requires a concrete background in heavy civil construction, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline; or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience on commercial or heavy civil construction projects.
• High degree of initiative, independence, personal responsibility, and integrity.
• Willingness to speak up, listen, ask open-ended questions, and learn from others.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively pursue and engage in safety training and follow Atkinson safety culture.
• Participate in TRACK process; attend daily/weekly meetings and field inspections.
• Coordinate with craft personnel, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and project team.
• Support scheduling, cost engineering, and subcontract coordination tasks.
• Help track budgets, quantities, and reporting; assist change orders and requisitions.
