Job summary

MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) in New Haven, CT is seeking a Project Engineer to provide on-site project support across pre-construction and construction activities for higher education, healthcare, and public sector projects.

You will act as the client’s on-site representative, applying engineering methods to plan, schedule, and monitor progress while collaborating with project leaders to deliver safe, timely, and quality outcomes on diverse facilities projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
• FE/EIT certification preferred or in training toward it.
• Engineering principles of construction management and project controls.
• One or more of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructability and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs
• Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications
• Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
• Electronic Project Management information, controls, and reporting management system platforms preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, schedules, plan reviews, and research of project records
• Review project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time
• Independently apply techniques and analyze problems and methods to support project objectives
• Monitor the quality and timeliness of deliverables throughout periodic fluctuations in workload
• Participate in MBP-provided training, company activities, and administrative duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
