Job summary

MSM Industries, LLC, Riverside, CA, is seeking a Production Planner to drive day-to-day production planning, scheduling, and shop floor control in a high-mix defense environment. You will translate contracts and milestones into actionable schedules, balance material availability with capacity, and coordinate with multiple internal teams to meet strict shipyard delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree requirement in supply chain, industrial engineering, operations management, or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years of production planning, master scheduling, or material planning in defense/maritime/aerospace environments.
• Hands-on ERP/MRP experience with discrete work orders and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release, and maintain detailed production schedules and discrete work orders.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Inventory to track long-lead raw materials and tooling.
• Perform rough-cut and finite capacity planning across specialized equipment.
• Align build schedules with customer milestones and naval ship availability.
• Monitor WIP, identify bottlenecks, and develop recovery plans for delays.
• Maintain accurate BOMs, routings, lead times, and lot tracking in ERP/MRP.
• Schedule outside processing and testing to prevent flow stoppages.
• Track KPIs like On-Time Delivery and Schedule Adherence.
• Ensure planning data complies with MIL-SPECs, NAVSEA, and AS9100 quality procedures.
