Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Production Manager for its Decatur, IL site. This on-site role leads a complex production line, coordinating staffing, materials flow, and priorities to meet safety, quality, and delivery commitments.

You will develop teams and drive continuous improvement with structured problem solving and data-driven decisions. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with relocation support and up to 5% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledge a plus.
• Six Sigma exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution for a complex production line, aligning staffing, materials flow, and priorities to meet safety, quality, and delivery commitments.
• Create and maintain production reports and records and provide actionable recommendations to improve safety, productivity, and quality.
• Supervise and direct production teams; assign work, coordinate across teams, monitor performance, and ensure a safe work environment.
• Train and onboard new team members; manage scheduling and resolve work conflicts to maintain stable shift execution.
