Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks a Procurement Specialist to support NSWC Corporate Operations in Dam Neck, VA. On-site procurement duties cover the full procurement life cycle for internal and external customers.

The role emphasizes independent work, familiarity with MILSTRIP, PCard, and SAP, plus ability to navigate multiple online systems. Strong communication and detail-oriented service are essential in this critical mission environment.

Qualifications

• US citizen with interim secret or higher clearance preferred.
• Associate degree or 3+ years related work experience.
• Ability to work independently across multiple online systems.
• Knowledge of MILSTRIP, PCard, and SAPs.
• Knowledge of IBPES, ERP, and other procurement tools.
• Understanding of the function of a 'technical screener' roll is a plus.
• Familiar with basic supply chain, logistics, or property management principles.
• Detail-oriented and customer-focused team member.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the review and analysis of procurement requirements for internal and external customers in major Programs across NSWCDD.
• Determine the appropriate and compliant procurement vehicle conforming to FAR requirements and assist customers with procurement documentation.
• Oversee life-cycle procurement processes including screening, ITPR coordination, PR creation, and DRMO coordination.
• Manage procurement processes to analyze and independently evaluate requirements while responding to inquiries.
• Apply knowledge of SAP to advise on purchases supporting efficient procurement practices.
• Recommend procurement strategies, develop acquisition packages, and assist documentation.
• Exercise independent judgment to determine next steps.
• Expedite responses to inquiries for short-turn procurement actions.
• Communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders across mediums.
