Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) seeks a Procurement Specialist to support NSWC Corporate Operations in Dahlgren, VA. The role focuses on managing procurement activities within the lifecycle and ensuring compliance with FAR requirements.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, hold an associate degree or equivalent experience, and be proficient with MILSTRIP and SAP processes. On-site work offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Associate's degree or at least three years of related work experience.
• Ability to work independently across multiple online systems to resolve issues.
• Knowledge of MILSTRIP, IBPES and related procurement tools.
• Detail-oriented and customer-focused team member.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee procurement requirements review for internal and external customers.
• Determine compliant procurement vehicles conforming to FAR and assist with FIAR readiness docs.
• Oversee lifecycle procurement processes including IT Procurement Review, PR creation, and DRMO coordination.
• Manage procurement processes to analyze and respond to stakeholder inquiries.
• Leverage SAP to advise on purchases supporting efficient procurement.
• Recommend strategies, develop acquisition packages, and guide procurements.
• Exercise independent judgment to determine next steps.
• Expedite responses to inquiries to meet critical mission needs.
• Engage and communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders at various levels.
