Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) seeks a on-site Station Leader for a new RICE/CT generating facility south of Lincoln, Nebraska. The incumbent will oversee operations and maintenance, manage the station and support staff, and report to the Sheldon/BPS Station manager.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 3 years supervisory experience, or an associate degree with 5 years, or a high school diploma with 7 years.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 3 years supervising power plant operations.
• Alternative: associate degree with 5 years supervisory experience; high school with 7 years.
• Broad understanding of power plant operations, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with RICE/CT facilities is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage multiple resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site operation and maintenance of the new RICE/CT facility.
• Manage operations and maintenance departments and support staff.
• Develop and manage station budget; coordinate with other groups and engineers.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety for personnel.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and succession planning; drive process improvements.
