Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Power Generation Commissioning Technician II to perform on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of power generation equipment at customer locations in Houston, TX. The role serves as a technical resource for customers and project teams, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

3+ years of power generation, electrical systems, or diesel engine experience for supporting industrial, marine, data center, utility, or critical power customers preferred.
Experience servicing comparable systems (Cummins, CAT, Kohler, MTU, or equivalent).
Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, OSHA regulations, and applicable electrical codes.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
Ability to travel extensively and work varying schedules as business needs require.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair generators.
Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on power generation equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, fuel, cooling, control, and starting system issues.
Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation.
Document findings, repairs, parts usage, and recommendations through detailed service reports.
