Job summary

MaxIT Consulting – Max Corporate Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist/Payroll Accountant in City of Industry, CA to run full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for multiple locations on-site and to assist the accounting team with GL, reconciliations and month-end close.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing and multi-state experience, independence in payroll management, and proficiency with payroll software, HRIS and Excel. Knowledge of wage and hour rules is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing.
• 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience.
• Experience independently managing full-cycle payroll.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Proficiency with payroll software, HRIS systems and Microsoft Excel.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for multiple locations.
• Review and validate timecards, attendance records, payroll adjustments and employee information.
• Process payroll adjustments, manual checks, off-cycle payments and deductions.
• Reconcile payroll reports, maintain accurate records and prepare payroll-related journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll laws, including wage and hour regulations.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings, W-2 processing and year-end reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate payroll data within payroll, HRIS and ERP systems.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Assist with month-end closing, financial reporting and P&L review.
