Job summary

Mechanics Bank is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team on-site in Walnut Creek, CA. You will process semi-monthly payrolls, audit increases and attendance, and maintain confidential employee information using Workday and HRIS systems.

Under supervision, you will ensure accuracy in payroll deductions, termination payouts, and funding to Finance, while supporting internal audits and external reporting to government agencies. Strong attention to detail and discretion are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in multi-cycle payroll processing.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
• Experience with timekeeping systems and HRIS.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payrolls using timekeeping and Workday systems.
• Audit salary increases, retro pay and attendance records.
• Record payroll deductions, wage attachments and adjustments.
• Prepare termination checks and ensure proper funding to Finance.
• Support quarterly payroll reporting to government agencies.
• Assist with internal audits and provide requested payroll documents.
