Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Patch Manager Field Systems Technologist for Navy ELMR, based on-site at a military base in Sicily, Italy. You will perform patching operations across Windows, RHEL, and SQL environments, supporting EURAFCENT system and network sustainment.

This role requires US citizenship, SOFA status, travel up to 25%, and the ability to obtain DoD security clearance. Strong IT administration, virtualization, and security experience are essential, along with certifications or

Qualifications

• SOFA-compliant education: Bachelor's or Associate's with 4 years specialized, or HS with 8 years specialized.
• Experience in IT systems administration and TCP/IP networking.
• Must obtain CompTIA Security+ (or IAT Level II) within 6 months.
• Must obtain ETA CETa certification within 6 months.
• Experience with Windows (10/Server), RHEL, and Active Directory.
• Hands-on VMware and KVM virtualization; familiarity with HP/Dell servers.
• Proficient with PuTTY, WinSCP, Remote Desktop; strong network skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Implement patch updates via Motorola ASTRO Security Update Service.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot patching issues in a dynamic enterprise environment.
• Maintain clear verbal and written communication.
• Assist master site FSTs and engineering teams with daily maintenance across sites.
• Travel up to 25% annually for enterprise maintenance and regional patching.
• Obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance under SOFA.
