Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Patch Manager Field Systems Technologist (FST) for Navy ELMR, based on-site at a military base in Catania, Sicily, Italy. You will administer patching for Windows, RHEL, and SQL environments and support EURAFCENT sustainment activities while reporting weekly to leadership.

The role requires DoD clearance, SOFA eligibility, and up to 25% travel. 4+ years in IT systems, virtualization, and network administration are expected, with Security+ and CETa within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must meet Italy SOFA compliance requirements with eligible education or experience.
• Experience in IT systems administration and TCP/IP network administration.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ (or IAT II) within 6 months; ETA CETa within 6 months.
• Experience with Windows and RHEL administration and Active Directory.
• Hands-on virtualization experience and server hardware familiarity.
• Proficient TCP/IP networking and common admin tools (PuTTY, WinSCP, Remote Desktop).
• Strong multitasking, organization and self-management; proficient in Google Workspace & MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Implement patching and security updates for ASTRO and related systems.
• Diagnose patching issues in Enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
• Maintain clear verbal and written communication with teams.
• Assist master site FSTs and Engineering with daily maintenance across sites.
• Travel up to 25% annually for enterprise system maintenance.
• Obtain and maintain DoD Secret-level clearance under SOFA.
