Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Patch Manager Field Systems Technologist for Navy ELMR in Italy; this is a 100% on-site role based at a military base under SOFA status. You will manage patching across Windows, RHEL, and related systems in a complex enterprise environment.

The role requires travel, security clearance, and strong collaboration with Master Site FSTs and Engineering teams. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain required certifications within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Italy SOFA compliance requirements: Bachelor's Degree; OR Associate's Degree plus 4 years of specialized experience, OR High School Diploma / GED plus 8 years of specialized experience.
• Experience in IT systems administration and TCP/IP network administration.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining CompTIA Security+ certification (or IAT Level II) within 6 months.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining ETA CETa certification within 6 months.
• Experience with Windows (10/Server), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Active Directory administration.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and server hardware (HP ProLiant, iLO, Dell PowerEdge).
• TCP/IP networking knowledge and familiarity with PuTTY, WinSCP, Remote Desktop.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suites.

Responsibilities

• Implement system and security patch updates as provided by the Motorola Solutions ASTRO Security Update Service.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot patching-related issues in a dynamic, high-stress environment on an Enterprise Land Mobile Radio network.
• Maintain extensive verbal and written communication.
• Assist Master Site FSTs and Engineering teams with normal daily maintenance across master sites, dispatch sites, and RF sites.
• Travel up to 25% annually to support enterprise system maintenance and regional patching efforts.
• Obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret-level security clearance.
