Job summary

Accolade Healthcare in Peoria, IL is seeking a skilled painter to join our team. You will select materials, prepare surfaces, and apply paints and finishes to maintain our facilities to high standards while observing safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has proven painting experience, knowledge of materials and techniques, and strong attention to detail. You should have good math and communication skills, a valid driver's license, and be prepared to travel to additional worksites if needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a painter.
• Excellent knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix and apply them.
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques.
• Aptitude in using brushes, caulking guns, and other tools.
• Good basic math skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Manual dexterity with balance for scaffolding and ladders.
• Conscientious with attention to detail.
• Valid Driver's License; eligible for background check.
• May require travel to additional worksites.

Responsibilities

• Read instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and covering fixtures.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, or removing old paint.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material.
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture.
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
• Apply varnish and other finishes; take health and safety precautions.
