Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Principal Resident Engineer to lead oversight of a major NYC transportation hub project. Based at the project office, you will coordinate construction activities, manage safety and quality, and interface with project managers, contractors, and government agencies.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of CCA experience, an NY PE license, and a track record delivering large capital programs. A BS in Civil Engineering is required, with a MS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required); Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 12 years in construction contract administration, preferably NYC/NJ area.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in New York required.
• Familiarity with standard manuals and publications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities and inspections.
• Review plans, specifications, and changes for constructability.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, permits, and agency coordination.
• Coordinate between contractors and third-party stakeholders.
• Review designs and contractor repair proposals.
• Maintain asset database and tracking.
• Organize rapid response teams for time-sensitive issues.
• Support the main contractor on site as new situations arise.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, and quality.
• Administer contractor payments and adjustments.
• Communicate progress with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
