Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) seeks an Operations and Testing Lead for Project Pele, on-site at Idaho National Laboratory.

You will coordinate fueling, readiness, and testing while serving as BWXT's primary on-site representative, guiding design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure safe, timely deployment. The role requires a engineering degree, 7+ years of engineering experience, strong communication, and the ability to obtain DOE/DOD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, or related).
• 7+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience in disciplined operational environments with cross-organizational collaboration.
• On-site leadership representation and primary voice of the organization.
• Experience developing and reviewing basis of estimates for proposals.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to operate with minimal direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload with limited supervision.
• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DOE or DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety analyses, licensing efforts, site layout, facility interfaces, fueling preparations, and test program development.
• Act as BWXT testing and operations representative during fueling, assembly, startup, and operations/testing.
• Collaborate daily with INL stakeholders and BWXT personnel.
• Build relationships with INL to maintain schedule and budget.
• Communicate design, manufacturing, and testing issues to support integration across BWXT and INL scopes.
