Job summary

Martin Inc. is seeking a dependable On-Site Buyer to oversee daily non-stock purchases within the customer’s MRO storeroom and tool cribs.

This on-site role requires close collaboration with maintenance, operations, and procurement teams to support daily production needs, purchasing MRO materials, and following established procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong industrial purchasing background in a manufacturing environment, with experience supporting machinery, tooling, and

Qualifications

• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and mathematical skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and stand/walk long periods.

Responsibilities

• Become proficient with the ERP system.
• Review and analyze departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
• Clarify requisition details with departments or initiators.
• Determine processing method based on dollar amount, timing, and contracts.
• Identify and select vendors based on price, quality, and delivery date; place orders.
• Prepare and analyze complex technical specifications and bids.
• Create and review purchase orders.
• Resolve accounts payable issues and handle data input/retrieval.
• Assist internal and external customers with inquiries; provide storeroom customer service.
