Job summary

Big River Forest Products is seeking a mobile maintenance mechanic to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot sawmill equipment across multiple locations. The role is hands-on, outdoor, and requires working independently to minimize downtime.

You will service conveyors, blades, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and related machinery, perform preventive maintenance, document work, and communicate with the supervisor. A valid driver's license and the ability to work in all weather are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mobile mechanic experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex problems independently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work weekends and on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot sawmill machinery such as conveyors, blades, hydraulics, motors, and diesel engines.
• Respond to on-site mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct inspections and develop solutions for safe operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance like oil changes and lubrication.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical problems.
• Keep tools and equipment organized and maintain records of maintenance.
• Communicate with maintenance supervisor to prioritize work.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of parts and tools.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
