Job summary

Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for an on-site position in Houston, TX. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair tractors and trailers, with a focus on quality service and parts management.

The role requires 3+ years in diesel tech, valid DL, tool ownership, and basic IT/app familiarity. CDL-A preferred but not required. Competitive wages and company benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of Diesel Technician experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• CDL-A preferred but not required.
• Must provide own hand tools adequate to perform job functions.
• Proficient computer skills/software navigation to document repairs and use email.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and inspections on Class 6-8 trucks (brakes, tires, wiring, etc.).
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Repair/replace vehicle components.
• Open and close repair orders on company issued iPad.
• Obtain parts from local vendors and manage inventory on the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
• Maintain high productivity and meet SRT time targets.
