Job summary

ALABAMA REGIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES in Birmingham, AL is seeking a skilled Biller with at least two years of medical and dental billing experience for a full-time, on-site role. You will focus on claims follow-up, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and building strong relationships with providers, clients, patients, and staff.

The position emphasizes accuracy, timely submissions, denial follow-ups, and adherence to HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of medical billing experience.
• Familiar with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) preferred.
• Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• HIPAA privacy knowledge and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Submit claims with a goal of zero errors.
• Verify completeness and accuracy before submission.
• Follow up on insurance claim denials and exceptions.
• Meet required deadlines.
• Read and interpret explanations of benefits (EOBs).
• Utilize aging reports to follow up on unpaid claims >30 days.
• Respond to inquiries from insurers, patients and providers.
• Meet with Manager to discuss reimbursement issues.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and continuing education sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
