Job summary

JT Automation, LLC. is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer for an on-site role in Windsor, CT. You will assist in developing custom machinery by designing, specifying, sourcing, assembling, and testing mechanical components including tooling, guarding and structural parts, and controls components.

Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and service is required. You may also assist with electrical design, fabrication, and programming as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design weld tooling to locate parts quickly and accurately for welding.
• Specify motion control hardware to manipulate laser welding optics and tooling.
• Design enclosures and safety systems to contain the process and protect the operator and others from hazards.
• Test mechanical assemblies for conformance with design intent and debug as needed.
• Create, modify, and document pneumatic and hydraulic actuators and control systems.
• Prepare clear documentation and Bills of Materials for relevant systems.
• Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance and service.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, a related field or equivalent experience
