Job summary

Omega Medical Imaging LLC in Sanford, FL seeks a Sustaining / Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to support production, resolve mechanical issues, and improve manufacturability of medical imaging systems.

The role emphasizes hands-on work on the factory floor, CAD work in SolidWorks, and collaboration with assemblers, technicians, and suppliers to keep products moving smoothly through manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, drawings, and production documentation.
• Experience supporting manufacture of complex mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, fits and clearances, materials, fasteners, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with machined parts, sheet metal, weldments, fabricated assemblies, bearings, shafts, guides, and linear motion components.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing to resolve issues.
• Investigate production and supplier issues; implement corrective design solutions.
• Maintain SolidWorks parts, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs for released products.
• Support design release and engineering change processes with documentation.
• Create and maintain BOMs in the MRP system.
• Apply DFM/DFA to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Work with assemblers, technicians, machinists, quality staff and suppliers.
• Design or modify fixtures, tooling, gauges and alignment aids.
• Perform dimensional analysis, tolerance stacks, and GD&T reviews.
• Support NCRs, corrective actions, supplier issues.
• Assist prototype, pilot, and new product builds; identify issues early.
• Collaborate on electromechanical mechanisms and motion systems for tables, C-arms.
