Job summary

The Collier Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Gainesville, FL. This on-site role supports the maintenance team in keeping properties up to standard with a strong focus on troubleshooting, diagnostics, and customer service.

Responsibilities cover HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, and appliance repairs. A flexible schedule, reliability, and a basic toolset are required, with an emphasis on safety and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

EPA certification is a plus.
1 year maintenance technician experience preferred.
Strong work ethic and an eager-to-learn attitude.
Apartment housing experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing and HVAC.
Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented to complete work orders.
Able to work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends and emergency-on-call rotation.
Proven track record of excellent customer service.
Must have basic tools and be able to pass a maintenance test.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid in-state driver’s license.
This is a full-time position with emergency on-call commitment and overtime in the Summer/Fall turn season.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, and appliances.
Troubleshoot problems and diagnose solutions to maintain property standards.
Respond to maintenance requests promptly with a customer-service focus.
