Job summary

GCI Residential is seeking an On-Site Maintenance Technician for Settler’s Landing in Streetsboro, OH. You will fix and maintain apartments, trouble-shoot issues, and ensure a welcoming, safe community for residents.

The role requires hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance work, plus the ability to live on-site in the provided 2-bedroom apartment. EPA cert is preferred and on-the-job training is offered.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, building exteriors, and HVAC.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service and building relationships with residents.
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and thorough.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call hours.
• Ability to live on-site in the provided 2-bedroom apartment.

Responsibilities

• Keep the community looking clean, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
• Diagnose and resolve a wide variety of residential maintenance requests with speed, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliances, building exteriors, and more.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identifying potential issues before they become bigger problems.
• Partner closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to keep the community running smoothly.
• Building positive relationships with residents and delivering the level of service that makes them want to stay.
