Job summary

Ferrara in Forest Park, Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to sustain production and facility equipment. The role requires working on-site with gear trains, hydraulics, and electrical components, and adherence to shift times from 4:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and equipment installation as part of a cross-functional team. Ideal candidates have high school education or GED and 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including reading schematics

Qualifications

• Three years of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or completion of a 2-year Technical Degree in a related maintenance field and 1 year of experience.
• Experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet specifications.
• Reading blueprints, diagrams, programs/ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems and learn proper operation.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets, chains, knives).
• Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, sealing jaws, sensors, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule.
• Installs change parts on production machinery to run a different size, shape or product.
• Reads blueprints, diagrams, programs/ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper operation.
