Job summary

LAUKOA seeks a dedicated Project Engineer to provide on-site technical leadership for the NIST Boulder Central Utility Plant in Boulder, CO. The role oversees daily operating documentation for boilers, chillers, and central plant equipment, and coordinates quality services.

The Engineer will support QA, system improvements, and coordination with engineers, management, and subcontractors, ensuring reliability and safety.

Qualifications

Minimum four years of verifiable stationary engineering experience.
Experience with high‑pressure steam or high‑temperature water boilers.
Valid City and County of Denver Stationary Engineer Certificate within 180 days.
Experience with direct digital controls; Metasys preferred.
Experience with QA, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical leadership during core hours, Mon–Fri 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Coordinate delivery of quality operations, maintenance, and repair services.
Provide technical assistance to Stationary Engineers, HVAC mechanics, and subcontractors.
Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Submit accurate daily logs by 9:00 a.m. using the Government format.
Support operation of steam, chilled water, and related systems.
