Job summary

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. in Athens, AL seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform ongoing testing ensuring production yields quality product both mechanically and visually. The role also supports the Technology group and Quality Leader with additional requests.

Responsibilities include standard molding/testing tasks, PMs and calibrations, and maintaining a tour-ready lab. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma with 0–2 years’ experience; polymers/manufacturing associates

Qualifications

• High School education and 0-2 years appropriate experience at APNA.
• Polymer or Manufacturing related Associate's Degree and 2-5 years experience in the plastics industry – laboratory focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard molding and testing as called out on work packets and Technical Work Requests.
• Perform assigned PMs and calibrations.
• Keep the laboratory in a tour-ready condition.
• Follow all standard laboratory work instructions and test methods.
• Ensure compliance with lean, ethical and regulatory requirements including IATF 16949 / ISO 17025 / ISO 14001.
• Promote a safe work environment for self and others.
• Seek continuous improvement through periodic assessments.
