Job summary

Alpha is hiring for a full-time, on-site Youth Counselor to coach K-8 students using Alpha’s AI-powered tools. You will lead one-hour workshops on public speaking, focus skills, and feedback, and you will also run daily motivation sessions to push students to complete their weekly app goals.

You will work on campus, mentoring students directly, and adapting sessions to meet individual needs, ensuring a supportive, high-expectation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any subject.
• At least 3 years working directly with K-8 students (classroom teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp leadership, or youth programs).
• Comfortable letting adaptive learning software deliver academics while you coach motivation and life-skills.
• Proven high achievement in academics, athletics, or professional life.
• Stage presence strong enough to engage 12-year-olds for an hour without shouting.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts on public speaking, focus, and feedback.
• Conduct daily 1:1 and small-group motivation sessions to reach 100% weekly goals.
• Administer Test2Pass mastery checks and re-coach until mastery is achieved.
• Adapt workshop playbook and create new sessions for diverse ages.
• Be the authoritative yet approachable adult students choose to talk with.
