Job summary
Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking a Junior Controls Engineer for a Chicago-area facility in Bridgeview, IL. This on-site, first-shift role focuses on PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated production lines, conveyors, robotics, and packaging systems.
Ideal candidates have hands-on PLC experience or strong technical education. You will read schematics, tune VFDs and servos, work with HMIs, and coordinate with contractors to keep equipment running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Education in controls or electrical systems is required.
- Hands-on PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting preferred.
- Ability to read control schematics and electrical drawings.
- Local candidates only; on-site role in Bridgeview, IL.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems on production equipment.
- Adjust and troubleshoot PLC programs to diagnose issues.
- Read, interpret, and redline wiring schematics and control drawings.
- Adjust parameters in machines, VFDs, servos, and HMIs.
- Install and inspect conduit and busbar systems per codes.
- Terminations and repairs of electrical components with standard tools.
- Electrical tuning to maintain operation within tolerances.
- Inspect components to prevent downtime; assist with installation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors.
